Principal Investigator – Wound Care

Serve as a PI for wound care clinical trials (DFU/VLU) with full support and minimal disruption to your clinical workflow.

Role Overview

The Principal Investigator (PI) will oversee the conduct of wound care clinical trials in compliance with FDA regulations, GCP guidelines, and study protocols.

Halo Clinical Research operates a physician-embedded model, allowing research activities to integrate seamlessly into routine wound care practice with full operational support provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Principal Investigator for wound care clinical trials (e.g., DFU, VLU, chronic wounds)
  • Provide medical oversight and ensure subject safety throughout study participation
  • Review and sign off on study-related documentation, including source records and regulatory documents
  • Perform protocol-required assessments, including wound evaluations and clinical decision-making
  • Collaborate with Halo’s clinical research staff to ensure efficient study execution
  • Participate in investigator meetings and sponsor communications as required

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with relevant experience in wound care, podiatry, vascular, or related specialty
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas
  • Experience in wound care management (DFU, VLU, chronic wounds)
  • Prior clinical research experience as a PI or Sub-I preferred (not required)
  • Strong interest in integrating clinical research into practice
  • Ability to comply with GCP, FDA, and sponsor requirements
